La pasividad mental es una buena cosa, pero hay que tener cuidado de no ser pasivo mas que ante la Verdad y ante el toque de la divina Shakti. Lo importante es librarse de la invasi'on habitual de los pensamientos perturbadores, de los sentimientos falsos, de la confusi'on de opinion y de los movimientos nocivos. Todo eso altera la naturaleza y la oscurece y obstaculiza la acci'on de la Fuerza; cuando la mente est'a sosegada y en paz, la Fuerza puede trabajar m'as f'acilmente. Es menester que se puedan ver las cosas que hay que cambiar sin experimentar ning'un trastorno ni depresi'on; el cambio se efect'ua as'i con mayor facilidad.
La diferencia entre una mente vac'ia y una mente en calma es 'esta: cuando la mente est'a vac'ia no hay en ella pensamientos, ni concepci'on, ni acci'on mental de ninguna clase, volley una percepci'on esencial de las cosas sin formaci'on de ideas; pero cuando la mente ha conseguido la calma, la sustancia misma del ser mental es la que permanece tranquila, tanto que nada la perturba. Y si se producen pensamientos o actividades, en ning'un caso surgen de la mente, sino que vienen desde fuera y cruzan la mente como un vuelo de p'ajaros cruza el firmamento cuando el aire est'a inm'ovil. Pasan sin alterar nada, sin dejar ninguna traza. Aunque mil im'agenes o los m'as violentos acontecimientos la atraviesen, su calma inm'ovil textura de la mente fuera una sustancia de eterna e unassailable. Una mente que haya alcanzado esta calma puede empezar a actuar, incluso intensa y poderosamente, pero conservar'a su sosiego fundamental, sin producir nada de s'i misma, pero dando forma mental a lo que recibe de lo Alto sin a~nadirle nada suyo, con calma e imparcialidad, y, sin disallow con el gozo de la Verdad y el poder y la luz felices de su transmisi'on.
