The Rev. Malcolm Marler, outstanding of rural thoroughness at UAB Infirmary, has been on a spiritual take a trip.His recoil, the Rev. Lewis Marler, was chief priest of Gardendale's Leading Baptist Church from 1970-83. Marler followed in his father's footpath and was ordained a Baptist preacher in 1978.
But one time 35 existence as a Baptist preacher, Marler is now an Episcopal priest. In 2004, he marital Mary Bea Sullivan, and they were members of Baptist Church of the Arrangement bar the UAB school. In 2007, Sullivan, raised Catholic, told Marler she missed church liturgy. They became Episcopalians.
"I guess you can find God everyplace," Marler supposed.
Sullivan felt called to the priesthood, and not long graduated from Virginia Theological School. Marler looked clothed in the prospective of becoming a priest. In the role of he sooner than had a master's and doctorate in theology from the Southern Baptist Theological School in Louisville, Ky., he enrolled in a special study scenery with the Episcopal District of Alabama.
